This little adventure was inspired by my last two trips with my wife to Napoli, Italy. I really wanted to write some smooth, coffee drinking latino Jazz. So I hope you enjoy the cool Ambient Mediterranean Vibes.

INSIDE THE RAIN

The concept of 'Inside The Rain' started life with growth and the fragility of life. That space between life and death. The sound of fragility, growth, disintegration and ultimately failure are key to the sonic text of this album. In terms of instrumentation I had begun to experiment with percussion again as well electronic rhythmic expression set again dark ambient soundscapes. Another significant character of this album was acousmatic masking of instruments evolving them into new sonic entities. Minimalism was also central to these works and focusing on less helped these sound objects breath.

REVERIE

This album is the product of my time in France working on artist development and producing an EP with James Sanger. It features what was the Dark Moon Ensemble comprising myself and Emma Francis. Unfortunately the duo did not work out. I felt that the music recorded together with James deserved releasing.​ This manifested into 4 tracks taken from those sessions in September 2023 and also included two new pieces recorded and mixed by James with Megan Rawlinson on vocals this year 2025. ​

MIDNIGHT SHADES OF BLACK

The title track was released by Signora Ward Records, Italy as part of a doomy jazz compilation. ​The remaining tracks continue the melancholic doom dark jazz and dark ambient mood. The colours of jazz and the minimalist soundscapes create a moody and haunting landscape in which to dream and relax too. Enjoy.

The whole album has since been released on Signora Ward Records.

DESERTS
Bandcamp UK / Aural Films US 5.7.2025
This collection of sound art was composed by Nigel Sanders in response to a call out by Aural Films. The third track has been included in their release to raise money in planting trees. The concept came from visions of dark storms and desert soundscapes that lurk in my minds eye.

NEBULA

Released by The Church Of The Noisy Goat (Brazil) 2025. This album represents a return to more dark ambient experimental soundscapes first conceived in 2017 with NEON. The majority of the work were in the moment recordings of experimentations using the Behringer 2600 clone. Other textures and post productions were done the following year.
The sound aesthetic was to find a mindful trippy vibe that took the listener to the outer reaches of their dream state and the universe.
Synths, ARP 2600 (Behringer Clone) performed and recorded by Nigel Sanders France 2023 at Vibey Studios during an A and R session with James Sanger 2023.
